Truck Unloading / Barge loading

May, 2004, AEC, Inc. was contacted by a client who wanted to take Fly Ash from a power generating company and load it onto barges to be transported to South America. AEC, Inc. was asked by the client to work with their civil engineering firm to develop a proposed P & I,D to send to the board of directors for final approval. Upon receiving final approval from the Board, AEC, Inc. proceeded with final system design and proposals. The system purchased by the client was to consist of a pit with boot lifts to seal the trucks while discharging, air slide conveyors to bring the material from the pits to the bucket elevators, bucket elevators to elevate the material to another set of airslide conveyors, and once in the airslide conveyors, it would be discharged through any one of many loading spouts to load the barges. AEC, Inc. also designed the dust collection systems to discharge back into the process eliminating the need for a scavenging system to return the material from the collectors. This was accomplished simply by setting the dust collectors over the airslides coming from the unloading pit. The system started up on time with the only minor adjustments being made to the airslide and dust collection fans. Since the inception of this project, the client continues to work with AEC, Inc. for their material handling and environmental needs.
